Renewal by Andersen® of San Antonio has been in the window installation industry for a long time. We take pride in using the best possible materials for our window frames, sashes, hardware and glass. Here are just some of the reasons why use our innovative Fibrex® composite material to manufacture all our window frames and sashes.
What Is Fibrex?
An Andersen-exclusive material used for frames and sashes, Fibrex combines the best qualities of vinyl and wood without the shortcomings of either. It is designed for low-maintenance, long-term use, can withstand extreme weather and temperatures, and blends in seamlessly with different styles and colors. Fibrex is used in all our double-hung, casement and picture windows among other window styles.
The Advantages of Fibrex
Fibrex is extremely strong and durable, which allows us to build narrower sashes and frames than other manufacturers. It also has strong weatherstripping seals that last much longer than other products, allowing your double-hung, casement or bay windows to withstand any weather.
Fibrex has superior insulating properties. Whereas other materials expand from heat or contract from cold, our windows remain stable no matter what the weather does. We even tested some of our 20-year-old windows and found them in the same excellent condition now as they were when first installed.
Fibrex is primarily made of clean, reclaimed wood fiber, which can be reground and reused. This distinction has earned our picture windows a certified Green Seal®. This means our windows are more energy-efficient and environmentally safer than other standard materials.
