Due to the abundance of window trim colors available, the decision can be challenging. Here are some tips for choosing a color for your windows, courtesy of Renewal by Andersen® of San Antonio, a top window and door installation expert.
Choose the Same Color as Your Siding
A safe option is choosing the same color as your home’s siding. This can give your home a cohesive, streamlined appeal. Of course, if your home has multi-colored bricks, this isn’t as easy. In this case, your best bet is to choose a trim color based on the medium shade of the bricks.
Choose Colors That Blend in
If you don’t want to use the same color as your siding but also don’t want too strong of a contrast, choose a complimentary color that will blend in with your siding. Use one or two shades up or down your home’s main paint color and apply this to your trims.
Opt for Contrasting Colors
If your exterior is dark, white or off-white trim can add refreshing contrast to your exterior. Conversely, if your siding is a lighter shade, you can make the trim stand out by choosing a darker hue.
Use the Same Color as Your Entry Door
For an orderly look, paint your window trim the same color as your entry doors. You can also use the same color to paint your porch’s steps.
